Florida Dixie Youth Girls’ softball state tournament coming to Franklin County next week

Franklin County is getting ready to host this year’s Florida Dixie Youth Girls’ softball state tournament.
The 4 day tournament will be held at Kendrick Park in Carrabelle beginning July the 13th with a banquet at the Carrabelle Christian center.
The first game of the tournament will start on Friday the 14th at 9AM.
34 teams are expected to compete for the state title making it one of the largest youth tournaments in the state.
Its big enough that the county is planning to have two snowball machines at the park so there’s plenty of cold treats for everybody.
There won’t just be hundreds of softball players in the county – you can also expect their families, friends, coaches and well-wishers.
This is the second year the county has hosted the event.
Last year’s was a little smaller – there were only 33 teams at that event.
