Hello all!
With Scallop Festival in ONE week, the upcoming days will be busy for the Chamber. If anyone would like to volunteer at the Chamber office next week to lend a hand with answering phones, running errands, greeting visitors, etc., give Michelle a call/email! The next luncheon will be August 29th, at the St. Joseph Bay Country Club. Our speaker will be discussing the "Day of Declaration" event that will take place here on December 1st. Cost is $12 per person.

We are still looking for volunteers.  Please email Michelle at michelle@gulfchamber.org if you would like to be involved in the festival this year. Volunteers will work work a 2-hr shift and receive a volunteer tshirt and free admission!

            The Star will begin running a monthly column called “Volunteer Opportunities” on the front page of the community section of the newspaper.  It will list volunteer needs of various organizations in our area and who to call if you can help.  This service  will connect potential volunteers with groups that need their help.  Organizations can list their volunteer needs and who to contact if they can help.
            The Volunteer Opportunities column will begin in July.  It will run on July 12 and volunteer needs will need to be submitted to the Star by Monday, July 9.  Beginning in August the column will run on the first week of each month and volunteer needs must be submitted by noon on Monday.  Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our community.  Be sure to let organizations and potential volunteers know about this new column.
