Pre-weekend Tropical Forecast


Although several systems are lined up nose to tail, development is not expected.

The DSSC will continue to monitor these systems for any changes provide the necessary updates.

Significant Disturbances
None

Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Tropical Disturbance 25 is moving through the central Caribbean Sea. It extends from Hispaniola to the southeast, roughly near 70W. It will continue to the west at 15-20 mph producing intermittent bursts of thunderstorm activity.

Disturbance 27 is along 49.5W, moving west-northwest at 10-15 mph with low levels of thunderstorm activity.

Disturbance 26 is a weakening system along 37.0W. Movement is to the west around 10 mph. This system may dissipate over the next 48 hours.

Lastly, Disturbance 28 is emerging off the coast of Africa and is located along 16W. While traversing Africa over the last several days, this system has produced some vigorous thunderstorm activity and continues to do so. However, environmental conditions are not favorable for further development in the eastern Atlantic.

None of these systems are expected to develop over the next several days.

Disturbance 23 has moved inland over Mexico and removed from the analysis.

Long-Range Discussion
No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the 5-10 days.
