Red Cross Continues To Provide Client Casework For Disaster Victims Of TS Debby
As of last night, the Capital Area Chapter has had more than 440 disaster outreach contacts as a result of TS Debby. We continue to staff the Disaster Recovery Centers in Wakulla and Franklin Counties and have additional Red Cross caseworkers in the field and at the chapter.
In addition, the Red Cross has had 185 health services contacts and 112 mental health contacts.
The Red Cross response to this disaster will not end until all client casework is closed. In addition to client casework, the Red Cross has;
· Distributed 280 Clean Up Kits · Distributed 1,167 Comfort Kits · Distributed 3,475 Bulk Items(shovels, tarps, gloves, etc.)
People can help those affected by Tropical Storm Debby by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Consider making a donation today by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. The Capital Area Chapter is accepting donations on their website: www.tallyredcross.org. Contributions may also be sent to your local Red Cross chapter, 1115 Easterwood Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32311. Contributions enable the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
