Coast Guard medevacs 57-year-old fisherman near Pensacola

NEW ORLEANS — A 57-year-old fisherman was medevaced from the 40-foot fishing vessel Reel Fish Bonz 46 miles south of Pensacola, Fla., in the Gulf of Mexico, Thursday.
Timothy Lambert, residence unknown, was reportedly suffering from chest pains when the crew of the fishing vessel requested assistance. Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Ala.,watchstanders received the request from the crew of the good Samaritan research vessel Weatherbird and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Pensacola 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew.
The rescue crew arrived on scene with three Pensacola Fire and Rescue emergency medical technicians at 8:10 p.m. The rescue crew transferred Lambert to the RB-M and took him to Station Pensacola where the EMTs took him to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
“The Coast Guard works closely with its partner agencies, like Pensacola Fire and Rescue, to assist mariners in need,” said Petty Officer 1st Class James Griffiss, a search and rescue controller for Sector Mobile. “Due to a relay call from the Weatherbird crew, we were able to respond rapidly to get the fisherman proper medical care.”
Lambert was reportedly in stable condition.
