Community Health Improvement Project

The Wakulla County Health Department needs your help!  We are in the final stages of our Community Health Improvement Project, and need your assistance in the next phase of the process where we identify the most important issues facing the community and develop goals to address these priority issues.  We will host a workshop on August 28, from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Wakulla County Health Department.  During this session, we will review all the data and reports generated in the Community Health Improvement process, identify health priorities which impact Wakulla County residents, and develop goals & strategies for each priority.
Your experience and expertise is vital to this process!  Please join us on August 28, 10:00am-2:00pm at the Wakulla County Health Department – 48 Oak Street, Crawfordville, FL 32327. A working lunch will be provided during this workshop.  Please email your RSVP to Tonya Hobby (850)926-0401 ext. 217 by August 23, and let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Save the Date for the 3rd Annual “Smoke and Fire” Fundraiser

Wakulla County firefighters are excited to present the 3rd Annual Charity “Smoke and Fire” B-B-Q Cook – off contest Saturday October 27th at Hudson Park in downtown Crawfordville. This event will include more Fire Department and Law Enforcement teams than ever from around the Big Bend area; live music, games for the kids, live demonstrations, assorted fire and safety equipment display as well as fun for the whole family.
The proceeds from this contest will be used to support Camp Amigo, a week long camp for children that have suffered crippling or disfiguring burns, the Richard Rhea Scholarship Fund, named for one of our Crawfordville volunteer firefighters that died in the line of duty, and to furnish scholarships to local men and women pursuing Firefighter and Emergency Medical careers.
