Warrant Officer Joseph L. Schiro, of Coral Springs, Florida, died on October 6, 2012, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Warrant Officer Schiro was assigned to B Company, 1^st Battalion, 3^rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by 4 U.S.C. § 7(m), as amended on June 29, 2007, and the laws and Constitution of the State of Florida, I, Governor Rick Scott, hereby proclaim and direct as follows:

1.      All National and State flags shall be flown at half-staff at the County Courthouse of Broward County, Florida, and at the City Hall of Coral Springs, Florida, on Monday, October 15, 2012, in honor of Warrant Officer Joseph L. Schiro.

2. The National and State flags at the Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, shall also be flown at half-staff on Monday, October 15, 2012, in honor of Warrant Officer Joseph L. Schiro.
