Voter registration ends Tuesday for November election

There’s about a month before the general election, but Tuesday is the last day to register to vote or update your registration.
There are only two local elections on the November ballot, District 1 voters will vote for a county commissioner; that race is between incumbent Pinki Jackel and Eastpoint resident Tony Shiver.
District 5 voters will also select a county commissioner between Hank Garrett and William Massey.
Besides the local races, there will also be a number of constitutional amendments on the ballot, and of course voters will be choosing a senator, congressman, and president.
The general election will be held on November 6th, but early voting will begin on October 27th.
You can also vote using an absentee ballot which you can request online, by mail, by phone or in person.
You’ll find the local elections office at 47 avenue F in Apalachicola – you can find their website at votefranklin.com.
