A Dedication and Remembrance at the CGJ WWII Museum

On Friday, December 7, at 10:00 AM, the Camp Gordon Johnston World War II
Museum will dedicate two flagpoles donated by Woodmen of the World. This dedication
will be held at the new front entrance and a small commemorative plaque will be placed
between the two poles.

After the flag dedication there will be a short ceremony to remember Pearl Harbor,
the attack by the Japanese that caused the United States to enter WWII. The flag
will be placed at half mast as Taps is played. It will be followed by a recording of
Roosevelt's "Day of Infamy" speech; the original was heard by this nation on the chief
method of communication of that time, the radio.

Coffee and cookies will be served after the ceremony.

At 11:30 the movie Tora Tora Tora will be shown in the Museum’s Movie theatre. This
film is being shown as a visual remembrance of the attack on Pearl by the Imperial
Japanese forces on December 7th, 1941.
All are invited to come and, as always, admission is by donation and donations are
always welcome.
