FWC DIVISION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
WEEKLY REPORT
November 9-15, 2012        
 
This report represents some events the FWC handled over the past week; however,
it does not include all actions taken by the Division of Law Enforcement.
 
NORTHWEST REGION
 
ESCAMBIA COUNTY
 
Officers Joe Murphy, Royce Johnson, John Clark, Steve Hoomes, and Reserve Officer Lila Wise worked the opening weekend of small game season on the Escambia River WMA. During the detail, officers checked 60 vessels and 121 users, resulting in 13 citations and 24 written warnings being issued.
 
BAY COUNTY
 
Officers Mike Nobles and Steve Wicker were on patrol in St. Andrews Bay when they conducted a fisheries inspection on a commercial fishing vessel. During the inspection, Officer Nobles located two plastic trash bags containing fish fillets. One bag contained 21 triggerfish fillets and the other contained 8 gag grouper fillets. The captain of the vessel was issued a citation for possession of reef fish not maintained or landed in whole condition.
 
GADSDEN COUNTY
 
Officer Benjamin Johnson worked complaints at the Little River area, which involved the taking of over the limit and undersized striped bass and speckled perch. Fishing activity was very heavy. Officer Johnson located two individuals in possession of the undersized perch and undersized bass. Officer Johnson issued appropriate citations to both individuals.
