Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at 42 Surf Road near Sopchoppy at 3:51 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3.
The traffic crash involved a tree and driver entrapment. The driver, James Monroe Sanders, 64, of Sopchoppy, was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance. He was pronounced deceased at 4:33 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the traffic fatality. Their investigation continues.
