MEMORANDUM - Flags at Half-Staff for Specialist Arandall L. Shears

Specialist Arandall L. Shears, of Gainesville, Florida, died on January 15, 2013, after being involved in a single car accident while on his way to Guard headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.  Specialist Shears was assigned to A Company, 146th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 83rd Troop Command, Army National Guard, Gainesville, Florida. 

By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by 4 U.S.C. § 7(m), as amended on June 29, 2007, and the laws and Constitution of the State of Florida, I, Governor Rick Scott, hereby proclaim and direct as follows:

1.      All National and State flags shall be flown at half-staff at the County Courthouse of Alachua County, Florida, and at the City Hall of Gainesville, Florida, on Friday, January 25, 2013, in honor of Specialist Arandall L. Shears.

  1. The National and State flags at the Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, shall also be flown at half-staff on Friday, January 25, 2013, in honor of Specialist Arandall L. Shears.
