Plans moving forward to expand Vrooman Park playground

County commissioners are moving forward with plans to expand the playground area at Vrooman Park in Eastpoint.

The board agreed on Tuesday to allow the county parks and recreation department to reconfigure the T-ball field at Vrooman Park which will open up more space for an expanded playground.

It will also allow for a larger and more easily accessible T-ball field.

Parks and Rec Director Nikki Millender said the work should not take too long and the T-ball field work should be complete by baseball season.

Once that’s complete, the county will order the additional playground equipment.

The project was instigated by District 5 commissioner William Massey.
