Third annual Oyster Cook-off coming up

Apalachicola is getting ready for its third annual oyster cook-off to raise money for the cities fire department.

The main event is Saturday, January 19th from noon to 5 at Riverfront Park.

There will also be a silent auction and reception on January the 18^th from 5 till 8 PM.

Besides the oyster cook-off there will also be plenty of other activities including live music, food and drinks for sale and activities for the children.

Even though the event is only three years old it has proved very successful and has raised thousands of dollars for the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department.

This year all of the money raised through the event will help the Apalachicola Fire department pay for a new fire truck.
