Wakulla county to ban the sale of flavored tobacco

You won’t be able to buy flavored tobacco in most stores in Wakulla County for much longer.

On November 5th, The Wakulla County Commission adopted an ordinance restricting the selling or distribution of flavored tobacco products at stores that sell to minors.

The new rule goes into effect February 1st – it will be enforced by the Wakulla County sheriff’s office.

Flavored tobacco is tobacco products like cigars, cigarettes, snuff, chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco products and blunt wraps that have had artificial or natural flavors added to them.

Flavored tobacco appeals to younger audiences.

In Florida, one in six kids between the ages of 11 and 17 has tried flavored tobacco.
