A flood warning is in effect for the Apalachicola River


      A flood warning is in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties.  

River levels at Blountstown were at about 20.3 feet on Monday which is more than five feet above flood stage for the Apalachicola River.

River levels are expected to rise to 25 feet by Thursday morning and then begin falling by Thursday afternoon.

Residents along the Ochlocknee, Crooked and New Rivers should also monitor rising water levels through the week

All people with interests along the rivers should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to protect life and property.  

Do not walk or drive cars through flooded areas.
