Franklin County Commission will meet on Tuesday morning


Franklin county commissioners will interview applicants for county attorney on Tuesday.

The board will interview 5 attorneys from around the area to potentially serve as county attorney,

The board decided to seek bids for the job in December as a way to save money, the current county attorney, Michael Shuler, who has represented the board since 2003 is one of the attorneys being interviewed.

The interviews are expected to begin at about 10:30.

Commissioners on Tuesday will also open bids for the construction of a new hangar at the Apalachicola airport.

The board plans to construct a 60 by 60 corporate hangar at the airport using grant funds from the Department of Transportation.

The commission on Tuesday will also get its monthly report from Weems Memorial Hospital.

County commission meetings are open to the public – tomorrow’s meeting begins at 9 AM at the Franklin county courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
