Port St. Joe seeks pictures of city's history for centennial celebration

The city of Port St. Joe will celebrate its 100th birthday this year.

The City will celebrate its centennial in July with a week-long celebration.

Before then, however, the City’s centennial committee is looking for old photos of the city and its history.

The photos will be used to create a photographic archive of the city’s history for historical and educational purposes.

If you would like to help with the program, the Centennial committee is asking that you bring your pictures to the Senior Citizens’ Center next to the Library off of HWY 71 in Port St. Joe on February 23rd from 2-5 pm

The photos will be scanned and handed right back to you.

They will also ask you to tell the story of the photos so they can record more of the city’s history before it is lost.

And to make it worth your while, Pie, ice cream and coffee will be served.
