The Wakulla County Tourist Development Council is pleased to announce the opening of the Wakulla County TDC Grant Program application cycle. The purpose of the grant program is to provide limited funding to organizations that sponsor and promote tourism activities in Wakulla County. Requests for funding from the TDC for local tourism events/projects will not be received by the Council except through the grant application process.
Application forms and criteria can be obtained by contacting Pam Portwood, Director, Wakulla County TDC, P. O. Box 67, Panacea, Florida 32346, pportwood@mywakulla.com. Applicants must use the application form provided and all applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on March 1, 2013. Applications (in Word or pdf format) can be emailed to pportwood@mywakulla.com. If application is submitted in hard copy, applicants must submit five (5) copies to the above address.
Maximum funding request is $1,000. Funded projects must be complete by 9/30/13. Questions or requests for additional information should be directed to Pam Portwood, Director, Wakulla County TDC, P. O. Box 67, Panacea, Florida 32346,pportwood@mywakulla.com.

15th Annual Valentine Celebration and Parade & 1st Annual Cupid Dash & 1 Mile Fit for Love Walk
February 9, 2013
The Celebration kicks off this year with a 5 K Cupid Dash & 1 Mile Fit for Love Walk at 7:30 a.m. followed by Breakfast in the Park at 8:00 a.m. The Valentine Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. with special guest Nigel Bradham, Buffalo Bill’s linebacker #53 as Grand Marshall, and then we move right on to the Celebration in Hudson Park. The Celebration features live entertainment, food & craft vendors, and carnival style rides as well. Festivities culminate with a ticket drawing for a $1000.00 cash prize. |

Spring Classes Begin February 12, 2013!
Have the distinction of being a certified nature-based guide! Be an ambassador of our natural resources in the Big Bend area by promoting and practicing ecotourism! We combine business classes with our nature classes so you will have the ultimate experience of learning both. By the end of the course you will understand the basics of starting your own small business, learn about local ecosystems, local geology and archeology, historical facts, plants and trees, birding, marine life, and much more. AND, oh the places you’ll go! Not interested in taking the entire course? Wondering how you can take individual classes and field trips instead?
