The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will meet next week In Havana .
The
group will discuss a number of issues that could be of interest to local
fishermen including a proposed red snapper season from June the 1st
through July the 14th.
In a
draft rule hearing, the Commissioners will discuss a proposal to eliminate the
requirement for a recreational fishing license when targeting lionfish with
certain gear and to have no recreational or commercial harvest limit for the
species.
The
Commission will consider a proposal to make tarpon and bonefish
catch-and-release-only species.
In
hunting issues, the commission will consider creating a Private Lands Deer
Management Permit program for land parcels large enough to implement herd and
wildlife management.
The
meeting will be held on April the 17th and 18th at the Florida Public Safety Institute on 85 Academy Drive .
