Legislators approve back to school sales tax holiday

It looks like the back to school sales tax holiday will take place again this year.

State legislators authorized the popular measure during budget negotiations this week.

The sales tax holiday will run from August 2 through the 4.

The sales tax holiday exempts certain school-related items from the state's sales taxes including essentials such as paper, pencils and even inexpensive clothing.
And this year it could include computers and computer-related equipment.

The exemption would apply to computers, computer accessories, and non-recreational software with a value of $750 or less.

The back to school sales tax holiday has proved very popular in years past.
