A New Second Baby Dolphin Announcement - Now It’s A Boy

Gulf World Marine Park is proud to announce the birth of a second Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin.  Indie a 12 year old female Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin gave birth to a male calf at 4:17 am on Wednesday May 22, 2013. Indie was born here in 2001 and her calf is a second generation birth.  Our park guests can observe the moms and calves periodically throughout the day during nursery times.  The father of both calves that were born in the last week is an eighteen year old bottlenose dolphin on breeding loan from Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park.  Gulf World’s Veterinarian and marine mammal staff will monitor the dolphins closely for the next few weeks. The data collected during this period will be used in future research and education projects.
