Local Cancer Society volunteers will
join together this weekend in the groups annual Relay for Life Fundraiser.
Relay
for Life is an overnight event in which teams walk around a given area either
raising money as they walk, or collecting money beforehand in the form of
donations.
Money
raised through the Relay for Life program helps local cancer victims and their
families.
The Relay for Life Event will be held this
year in Apalachicola
at Riverfront
Park
It begins at noon
on Saturday and ends at noon
on Sunday.
The opening
ceremonies/survivor lap starts at noon on
Saturday and the
Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 9pm .
There will
also be other activities at the site including karaoke at 3:30 and a couple of performances through the night.
There will be games and activities for children and lots of food, bbq, hot dogs.

Sacred
Heart is even bringing out a misting tent so there is a way to cool off for
free while enjoying the event.
