Plans
for designing a new multi-use path in Alligator Point have hit a small snag.
The county commission opened proposals in
April from two companies that would like to engineer and design the bike and
walking path that would reach from Alligator
Point
Marina
to Gulf Shore Boulevard .
It’s a 122 thousand dollar project.
However under state rules the county needs
at least three proposals so the county commission
had to reject the proposals they received and readvertise the project in the
hopes a third company will show an interest.
The county will re-advertise
in a paper of regional circulation and if that fails to generate 3 responses
then the county will be allowed to proceed with only 2 proposals.
