FWC will be on Timber Island Friday to celebrate saltwater license-free fishing day

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be offering a saltwater license-free fishing day this Saturday, June 1st and a freshwater license-free fishing day on June 8th.

License-free fishing days are a way for Florida’s residents and visitors to try out salt or freshwater fishing in the hopes they’ll fall in love with it and become regular fishermen.

To help celebrate the free saltwater fishing this Saturday, FWC staff will be at several boat ramps and docks talking with the public about saltwater fishing including how to handle fish, use dehooking tools, general boating safety and more.

On Friday you will be able to find them holding a dockside outreach in Carrabelle at Timber Island Road and on Saturday they’ll be at the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge boat ramp.

On June 7th FWC staff will hold a dockside outreach at the boat ramp at Lanark Village.
