Wild Mammal Association seeks pilot to fly birds north

The Florida Wild Mammal Association in Wakulla county is looking for a pilot willing to provide a lift to three birds.

The group has two loons that need to go to Minnesota, and a Razorbill Auk that needs to go to Delaware.

The loons have damaged feathers and tried to migrate but could not fly well enough to stay in the air.

The Razorbill Auk is a mystery as it is not supposed to be anywhere near this area.

All of the birds are very delicate and have to be kept cool and on padding during transport.

It is rapidly getting way too hot here for them; they need to be transported and released back to their usual habitat as soon as possible.

The Wild Mammal Association says the perfect solution would be to find a private plane ride for them.

If you or someone you know might be able to help, you can contact the Florida Wild Mammal Association at 363-2351, or find them on-line at wakullawildlife.org.
