Franklin County to re-advertise for Supervisor of Public Works

County commissioners have decided to re-advertise for workers who would like to serve as county director of public works.

The board is currently advertising in-house for employees who would like to fill the position that became vacant after the retirement of long time public works director Hubert Chipman.

The board had already sought applications once, but commissioners said that there were some misunderstandings among some employees over whether they were eligible to apply.

In order to reopen the application process the county had to reject the three applications they had already received but said those applicants were welcome to re-apply now.

The new application process will run for two weeks.
