Franklin Needs now providing free mammograms at Sacred Heart Hospital in Port St. Joe

Franklin Needs has changed the location for its free mammogram program in Franklin county.

Franklin Needs is a group that for years has provided free mammograms to uninsured Franklin County women.

The service has historically been provided at Weems Memorial Hospital in Apalachicola. Weems is currently looking to update their equipment to state of the art digital mammography and during an interim period will not be providing the services.

So, as of June the 10th the group is providing its free mammograms through Sacred heart hospital in Port St. Joe.

All you have to do to take part in the program is schedule a mammogram at Sacred heart and tell them you are doing it through the Franklin Needs program.

You can reach them at 229-5600.

Sacred Heart will perform digital mammograms and if you have already had a digital mammogram at Bay Radiology, Sacred heart will request those records when you schedule your next appointment.

All other aspects of the program will remain the same.

Eligibility is limited to Franklin County women who have no health insurance and are between 35 and 64 years of age.

If a biopsy is required it will be performed at Bay Radiology

And Franklin Needs will pay for all testing up to a diagnosis as long as funds are available.

If you would like to help out with a donation to Franklin Needs, you can send a check to Franklin Needs, Inc., 55 South Bayshore Drive, Eastpoint, FL 32328
