Primary care at Health department in Wewahitchka ends on July 1st

If you live in Wewahitchka and receive primary care through the health department, The Florida Department of Health wants you to know they will be discontinuing Primary Care Medical Services in Wewahitchka on July 1st.

They are taking that step because Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf will open their new Primary Care Clinic this summer in Wewahitchka. 

Public Health Services will continue at the health department.

The services that will be ending in July include acute and chronic sick visits for adults and well child and sick visits for children.

Behavioral health services and laboratory collections for CHD patients will also end.

There will also be a few minor changes to the immunization program and family planning services.


Patients moving from the health department to sacred heart on the gulf for primary services need to fill out a medical records release form which is available at the Florida Department of Health in Gulf County.
