Covenant Hospice to host Remembrance Celebration

June 20, 2013
Covenant Hospice invites bereaved hospice families, as well as community members who have endured the loss of a loved one, to attend a special Remembrance Celebration at 6 p.m. Thursday June 20 at Maclay Gardens, located at 3540 Thomasville Rd.
Covenant Hospice patients and community members who have died will be remembered and celebrated by family, friends and staff.  The celebration will include music, candle lighting and selected readings.  A reception with refreshments will follow.

Join Covenant Hospice Award-Winning Volunteer Team As We Celebrate 30 Years of Compassionate Care


Tallahassee, Fla- Covenant Hospice is seeking adults and high-school students to join our award-winning volunteer team. A training workshop will be held on June 25thand June 27thfrom 10:00 to 2:00 at the Covenant Hospice branch office,located at1921 Capital Circle, N.E, Tallahassee, Fl.  The workshop is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Covenant Hospice Volunteer Training will present an overview of hospice care and volunteer choices. Individuals and groups are needed to provide support for Covenant including office work, community outreach, and fundraising. Patient and family support volunteers are needed to provide friendly visits, companionship, breaks for caregivers, light housekeeping, transportation, assistance with yard work, home repair, and more. Workshop Scheduled

Capital City to the Sea Trails is conducting a Public Workshop on June 25, 2013 at 6:00p.m. at the Wakulla County Commission Chambers.  This workshop is intended to allow the public to provide input on a potential network of paved trails that wraps around and through scenic landscapes between Florida’s Capital City and the Gulf of Mexico.

4th of July Celebration at The Oaks Bar N Grille

Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration


Come celebrate 4th of July in Sopchoppy!  Festivities for the day begin with a parade downtown Sopchoppy from 10-11 am. Byron B. Hodges Park opens to the public at 11 am for the opening ceremony from 12:00 – 12:30 pm. (Donation of $3 for park entry) Browse vendor booths, and enjoy live entertainment before getting settled in for the fireworks at 9pm. Wakulla Sit – In Movie Fest

Bring the family for a free movie night!
Palaver Tree Theater / Wakulla Co. 4-H Youth / Wakulla Co. Extension Office / and the Wakulla Co. Public Library present Wakulla’s SIT-IN  Movie Fest at the Wakulla County Extension Office. All shows start at 5:30 pm. Free and open to the public.

Bring LAWN CHAIRS, BEACH CHAIRS, BLANKETS to sit on main arena floor, or bleachers.  Folding chairs will also be provided. 

Popcorn / snacks available; drinks are limited, so bring your own.

4th Annual Ronald Reagan Blue Jeans and Black Tie Affair

The Wakulla County Republican Party will host Florida Governor Rick Scott from7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fourth Annual Ronald Reagan Blue Jeans and Black Tie Affair on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Wakulla Springs Lodge.  The event is open to the public and, prior to speaking, the Governor will be available to meet and have photos taken with attendees of the VIP Reception at 7:00 pm.
Tickets include a barbeque dinner, cash bar, and live entertainment and are $50 per person, $25 per person for VIP Reception, or $125 per couple for dinner and Reception ($25 discount).  Table Sponsorships are $1200 for 8 seats including dinner and VIP Reception for each.  Because seating is limited, advance purchase is recommended.  Tickets are available at www.WakullaGOP.com or by calling (850) 926-4402Blue Jeans and Black Tie

Meeting Purpose
To provide the citizens of Wakulla County and other interested parties an opportunity to provide input on the development of the Wakulla Airport Master Plan.   Citizens are asked to come and provide input on the master plan.  The input provided during this meeting will be instrumental in the development of the master plan and will lay the framework for its success.
