Weems Hospital and Health Department are helping local families register for KidCare

If you have children without insurance – you need to check out the Florida KidCare program.

Florida kidcare is a state insurance program for children from birth to 18 years old.

It can be much less expensive than many private plans and still provides substantial health care coverage.
Some of the services covered by Florida KidCare include Check-ups and shots, Hospital stays and Surgeries.
The service also provides Prescriptions, Dental and Mental health services.
And right now Weems memorial Hospital and the Franklin County Health department are working together to provide assistance to people trying to sign up their kids for kidcare or for Medicaid.
For more information or to sign up for either of the services, please stop by the Health Department in Apalachicola on Thursdays or at the Carrabelle location on the third Tuesday of the month.

You can also contact the health department at 653-2111.
