Gumbo Cookoff Nov. 9
The St. James/Lanark Volunteer Fire Department will host a Gumbo Cookoff on Nov. 9 at the Lanark Village Boat Club & Marina just east of Carrabelle on US Hwy 98. The event runs from 10-4 pm and will also feature live music and auction items.That same day, theCarrabelle Seniors Center will host a Fall Festival complete with local art, crafts, food and even an old fashioned cakewalk.
Christmas Celebration Kicks off Nov. 29-30
Be in Apalachicola the day after Thanksgiving to enjoy the kickoff to Apalachicola's annual Christmas Celebration. On Friday, Nov. 29, from 4-8 p.m. the streets of downtown Apalachicola will be lined with luminaries and filled with holiday spirit. Santa arrives on a shrimp boat, merchants will be open late and carolers will fill the evening with the Christmas spirit. Four ingenious murders take place in an island mansion as a pair of elderly detetives set to work on their first case. The ever popular storm, the unexpected guests, the cryptic poem and the missing fortune all add to the intricate and inventive mystery.Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum will host a silent auction and golf tournament on Nov. 8-9 to benefit the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum.
