Gumbo Cookoff Nov. 9
The St. James/Lanark Volunteer Fire Department will host a Gumbo Cookoff on Nov. 9 at the Lanark Village Boat Club & Marina just east of Carrabelle on US Hwy 98. The event runs from 10-4 pm and will also feature live music and auction items.That same day, theCarrabelle Seniors Center will host a Fall Festival complete with local art, crafts, food and even an old fashioned cakewalk.

Christmas Celebration Kicks off Nov. 29-30
Be in Apalachicola the day after Thanksgiving to enjoy the kickoff to Apalachicola's annual Christmas Celebration. On Friday, Nov. 29, from 4-8 p.m. the streets of downtown Apalachicola will be lined with luminaries and filled with holiday spirit. Santa arrives on a shrimp boat, merchants will be open late and carolers will fill the evening with the Christmas spirit. Noted Plein Air artist Harold Frontz will hold a three day Introduction to Plein Air Painting workshop at Apalachicola's Center for History, Culture and Arts Center.
 
Sculpture Exhibit Continues
The sculpture exhibit “When Women are Birds – Voices in Sculpture” continues at Apalachicola's Center for History, Culture and Art throughDecember 14. Florida Seafood Festival Nov. 1-2
The 50th Annual Florida Seafood Festival kicks off in Apalachicola November 1-2.  This year's headline entertainer is recording artist Kellie Pickler.
