Road work begins in Cape San Blas

Drivers traveling State Road 30A between Cape San Blas Road and Highway 98 in Gulf County will encounter lane closures starting today.

Construction crews are beginning resurfacing work today.

The project also includes the addition of five-foot paved shoulders, drainage upgrades, and updated guardrails on the Simmons Bayou Bridge. 

During construction roadside parking will be restricted, the speed limit will be reduced on 30A and access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.

While one lane of traffic will be open, drivers and pedestrians can expect temporary delays. 

Motorists are reminded to pay attention and use caution when driving through the work zone.
