Construction work on the State Road 30A improvement project will be suspended
during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Crews plan to cease operation the afternoon
of Wednesday, November 27th and resume work on December 2nd.
The $13.2 million construction project is resurfacing State Road 30A between Highway 98 and Cape San Blas Road .
Construction crews are also working to improve drainage,
widen the travel lanes and build paved shoulders.
When the project is complete the roadway will consist of
two 12-foot travel lanes with four-foot paved shoulders.
Work on the project should be finished by winter of 2015.
The department of Transportation said suspending work
during the busy holiday weekend will help ease traffic congestion.
