Franklin County Public Library offers food for fines program

If you have library fines hanging over your head and you don’t know how you are going to pay them – the Franklin County Public Library has a new program that can erase the fines and help needy families at the same time.

They call it the “Fine Forgiveness for perishable foods” program.

Basically for every can or box of food you bring in to the Eastpoint or Carrabelle branch of the public library through December the 18th, the library will knock 1 dollar off any fines you may have.

Not only will it help you start off with a clean record at the library, but you’ll also help stock our local food pantries during a busy time of year.

Again, the offer is good through Wednesday, December the 18th.

The public libraries are located at 160 Hickory Dip road in Eastpoint and on Highway 98 in Carrabelle.
