Franklin County will host the 2015 Dixie Youth Girls' Softball All-Star Tournament

Franklin County will host this year’s 2015 Dixie Youth Girls’ softball All Star tournament.

The event will likely be held at Kendrick Park in Carrabelle though county commissioners are looking at the costs of upgrading the sports parks in Eastpoint and Apalachicola to hold future tournaments.

The event could bring hundreds of people to Franklin County.

When the event was last held in Franklin County in 2010 there were 4 age divisions, and 48 teams.

The county is also trying to get the rights to host this year’s District All-Star baseball tournament; county parks and recreation director Nikki Millender said a decision will likely be made on the location next week.
