Water system repairs will impact Lanark Village customers beginning Thursday

Lanark Village residents will find themselves without water service for a few hours on Thursday and then will be under a precautionary boil water notice for a few days after that.

The City of Carrabelle will make repairs to a water line in Lanark Village for most of the day on Thursday.

Lanark Village residents will be without water for several hours and could see a loss of water pressure for longer than that.

When water service is restored, Lanark Village will be under a precautionary boil water notice until water samples can be tested for bacteria to show that it is safe to drink.

That means all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or even washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used.

Residents are also advised to take precautions when bathing, especially immuno-compromised individuals, infants and the elderly.

If you have any questions or concerns you should contact Keith Mock at 251-9106.
