All of area 1642 will reopen on Tuesday

The Florida department of Agriculture will re-open all of area 1642 to oyster harvesting on Tuesday.

That’s the conditionally approved winter east shellfish harvest area.

Most of the area was re-opened last week but a section remained closed because of an ongoing dredging project along the intracoastal waterway.

The area that reopens Tuesday morning lies between the old bridge causeway and the power poles.
