Area 1612 of the Apalachicola bay will reopen to oyster harvesting on Sunday morning.
The area has been closed since February 15th because of
heavy rains and high river levels.
The department of Agriculture says fecal coliform tests now show the
site meets the standards to be re-opened to oyster harvesting.
Area 1612, which is the conditionally approved Winter West Shellfish Harvest Area, will reopen
at sunrise.
Oystermen will be able to work the area
starting Monday.
