The
Cape St. George Lighthouse on St. George Island
The lighthouse has been closed
since March the 3rd while improvements were done to the lantern
room.
New glass was installed in the
lantern room and a series of vents were added above the upper glass panes.
The iron work of the lantern room
was also cleaned and repainted as part of the project.
You can see the work for yourself
– the lighthouse will reopen at 10 o’clock Friday morning.
The
lighthouse will also hold its monthly full moon climb on Sunday from 730 till
9.
Admission is $15 for the
general public and includes snacks and a sparkling cider toast to the full
moon.
