Gulf County arrests three on Meth charges
Gulf County Sheriff Mike Harrison announces the arrest of Christopher A. Nelson (30), John M. Guffey (37), and Brandi E. Brogdon (35) of Wewahitchka. The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) Narcotics Unit, with investigative assistance from members of the Patrol Division, made the arrest during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 29th.
The GCSO received an anonymous call regarding subjects in the 200 block of Marvin Pitts Road actively smoking meth. Additional information was received by the Narcotics Unit regarding the same activity. The Narcotics Unit, along with members of the Patrol Division arrived at the location and was able to smell the odor of a meth lab as they exited their vehicles. Deputies approached the location, discovered the door to the location was standing open and was able to observe items consistent with meth production in plain view. Approximately 16 items of evidence were collected associated with the case.

As a result of the investigation Christopher A. Nelson (30) was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals, Attempted Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; John M. Guffey (37) was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals, Attempted Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Brandi E. Brogdon (35) was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals, Attempted Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All subjects were arrested and transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility (GCDF) and later first appeared. Nelson and Brogdon remain in the custody of the GCDF. Guffey was released on a $35,500 bond.
