Humane Society seeks good home for Annie

Annie OUTREACH.   Annie is a 1 ½ yr old Lab mix who has been in foster care since July.

She came to us extremely shy and nervous and the
shelter only made her anxiety worse.  One of our foster moms has done an
amazing job with her but can no longer keep her.  The worst thing for
this girl would be to come back to the shelter so we are asking anyone
who might be able to adopt or foster her to please consider doing so.
More about Annie:
Annie is very social with other dogs and gets along well with cats.  She
is housebroken and leash trained.  She LOVES the beach, boat rides and
golf cart riding.  She loves to swim and will retrieve a ball all day long.

Annie prefers women to men, kids scare her but she has never shown any
aggression towards anyone or anything.  Her MO is to run and hide if she
gets anxious.   She tends to be hyper alert, especially inside.  She is
very sensitive to certain sounds and “spooks” easily.  She is
particularly scared by sounds that come up from behind her.
We are looking for someone, preferably a woman who enjoys spending time
on the beach or water, someone who has the time and compassion to
continue working with this sweet gentle girl.   The progress she has made
is significant and she will continue to improve given the right
circumstances.
If you are willing to foster or adopt her, her foster mom can fill you in
on all of her behaviors.  She will be happy to introduce you to Annie and
tell you all about what a wonderful dog she is and the areas in which she
still needs help.
Please call Karen at 850-670-8417 with any questions you may have.
