Vrooman Park in Eastpoint was filled with rib lovers on Saturday as people came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and help raise money for the Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department.
The annual event helps fund the fire department’s budget – the exact amount raised through the event should be released in the next few weeks.
The Bayshore Porkers team from Eastpoint took top honors in the cooking contest.
Joshua Pruett took second place and the Big Top Supermarket cooking team came in third.
Big Top supermarket also won the People’s choice award by raising over 1500 dollars for the fire department.
Besides all of the food which also included apple dumplings and ice cream, there was also a children’s carnival, a silent auction, a liars contest and live music.
