If you
would like to visit St.
Vincent Island , but don’t have a boat to get there then Friday is your
lucky day.
This educational event will
allow you to visit the Refuge free of charge for the day.
The Refuge barge will even
provide hourly transportation from the Indian Pass boat ramp to the island.
The day will include guided
tours of the island, wildlife exhibits presentations on photography, history and
birding and even free snacks.
If you plan to take part,
you should bring your own bug spray, sunscreen, and water and make sure to wear
comfortable walking shoes.
The Refuge is open to the
public year-round during daylight hours except during hunt periods and
prescribed burns and/or wildfires.
You don’t need special
permits or prior notice – all you need is a boat.
You can get more
information on the open house and the refuge on-line at stvincentfriends.com.
