Wakulla County deputy bitten by bulldog

A Wakulla County Sheriff’s deputy was attacked by a bulldog on Sunday while attempting to answer a complaint about underage drinking and a vehicle partially blocking a roadway in eastern Wakulla County.

Deputies were approaching a homeowner about the vehicle parked partially in Culbreath Lane in Crawfordville when the incident occurred.

Deputy Anthony Paul suffered puncture wounds to his arm; wrist and hand after the pit bull escaped from inside the home and bit the deputy three times.

Deputy Paul was eventually separated from the dog; he was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment and later released.

The Wakulla County Animal Control Unit responded to the scene and took possession of the dog.

The underage drinking complaint was investigated and was unfounded.
