County commissioners have signed
the grant that will put a new roof on the Franklin county
jail.
The board agreed last week to
accept over 582 thousand dollars from the Division of Emergency Management to
replace the roof.
The County’s match is just over
194 thousand dollars, which the county already has budgeted in its fine and
forfeiture fund.
The jail is over 25 years old and
is starting to show signs of age – just last year the county had to do a major
overhaul to the jail’s plumbing system.
