TWO AIRMEN TO BE AWARDED PURPLE HEARTS

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Technical Sergeant Benjamin Wilhelm and Staff Sgt Anthony Cerrone, both explosive ordnance disposal technicians assigned to the 823rd RED HORSE Squadron, will receive Purple Hearts during a ceremony held at Tyndall July 18 for injuries they sustained during combat operations.
Wilhelm is being presented the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during combat operations while on his 4th of 7 deployments in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
Cerrone is being presented the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during combat operations while on his 3rd of 4 deployments in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the NCO Academy auditorium here at Tyndall AFB.
