Franklin County commission to choose chairman and vice-chair on Tuesday

County commissioners will take care of a little organizational business on Tuesday.
The bard will choose its chairperson and vice-chair or the upcoming year.
The current chairperson is District 2 commissioner Cheryl Sanders who was recent re-elected to the commission.
District 5 commissioner William Massey has served as vice-chairperson for the past year.
The board on Tuesday will also hold a public hearing on a draft ordinance prohibiting roofs on detached structures seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line on the west end of Alligator Point.

If the rule passes it would keep waterfront homeowners from putting roofs on any beach viewing platform they might want to put in front of their homes seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda is a bid opening for a new soccer field for the DW Wilson Sports Complex in Apalachicola, a discussion with the Eastpoint Medical Clinic, and an update from the Franklin County Senior Citizens Council.

County commission meetings are open to the public – tomorrow’s begins at 9 AM at the Franklin county Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
