Silencers can now be used when hunting for certain game animals in Florida
It’s now legal to use silencers in Florida when hunting for certain types of game.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission approved a rule on November 21st, which authorizes the use of rifles and pistols equipped with noise suppressors for taking deer, gray squirrels, rabbits, wild turkeys, quail and crows.
The rule became effective immediately and is in place now.
Florida is the 33rd state to allow noise-suppressors for game hunting – the ban was lifted at the request of hunters.
Florida already allows the use of suppressors on shotguns for game hunting.
A suppressor can also be placed on a rifle or pistol when hunting on private lands for non-game wildlife, including hogs and armadillos.
