State Senator Bill Montford named legislator of the year by Florida Farm Bureau

State Senator Bill Montford was named the Legislator of the Year by the Florida Farm Bureau.

The group made the announcement Wednesday.

The Florida Farm Bureau said Senator Montford has done outstanding work on agriculture issues in years past, but this year the work he did with Representative Jake Raburn on agriculture certifications made him the statewide Legislator of the Year.

This year Senator Montford helped solidify the passage of a bill that will afford more young people with opportunities in the agriculture industry.

The bill recognizes the critical need for agriculture careers in Florida by adding agriculture certifications to the Industry Certification Funding List which will help many young people interested in Agriculture gain the experience and training they need.
